Sun Broadband Wireless is mush cheaper than Globe’s new time based rate and Smart’s 10/30 minutes connection charge.

Sun Broadband Wireless offers broadband speeds using GPRS/EDGE/3G/HSDPA technology.

When I first got my SBW geez, madadala ata ako sa bilis ng service. Imagine, nagbburst siya up to 250-300kbps per download ko except torrents ala dial up ang connection dun. So I was a very satisfied customer then I even have my boyfriend got one for himself na rin kasi for the price napaka-convenient/practical until one night, April 27, 2009 ampotah it dropped to 4.75kbps max na lang ang download ko at napaka-consistent hanggang ngayon June 4, 2009 ganon pa rin. Mga peste, manlilinlang ng customer 100+ times na ko tumawag ng Sun Hotline I have the call escalated to a supervisor 5x na ata or more in fairness wala pa rin nangyari. Pumunta na ko sun shop to expedite the process wala pa rin.

So sa mga nagbabalak kumuha ng Sun Broadband Wireless if you want a dialup connection after a month, helpless technical support service at useless/misleading “broadband” internet connection, go for it. Anyway, P649 additional lang nmn if you have Plan 350 w/ suncell unlimited connection pa dabah?! Un nga lang tied kayo for 2yrs else bayad ka pre-termination fee kapag di mo na talaga ma-take ang service like me but of course I’m taking it to the next level na. Spread the word, it will save you time and money! Kung carry naman ng budget go for globe or smart or pldt weroam na lang at least sa globe 35kbps ako, sa smart 50kbps pldt haven’t tried pero ung dsl nila the best, very consistent ang speed! Naka-assign nabandwidth sakin it 1.2mbps kahit 1mbps lang supposedly ung nasa plan ko. :)

The Sun Broadband connection service is very disappointing!

Don’t be fooled to subscribe to this network.

They claim that they have 2Mbps but this is not true.

The highest speed that I get is 40 Kbps.

Most of the time during peak hours I get less than 10 Kbps.

Your browser seems to just freeze. You could sleep while waiting for the website to upload.

It seems that the Manila area is already congested since a few months back the connection is not like this. Your money is not worth it when you buy this.

The Sun Broadband is like the the Sun Cellular. A waste of money!

They should refund to the consumers all the connection days that the network gave slow connections.

The Senate of the Philippines should also make an action regarding this. We demand a refund with slow connections. This should be also be true with Sun Cellular calls.

If their Network could not handle the bulk of consumers that subscribe to their network, they should just limit the number of consumers that avail their network. We are being fooled by this network!

When you call their customer service, you have to wait for at least 30 minutes to be answered. Sometimes I wait for 30 minutes and it will be disconnected so I have to call customer service again and wait for another 30 minutes.

Dont be fooled by this Sun Cellular and Broadband Network.

Such a waste of money.

Consumers have the right to have good service.

We demand that the modems that we bought should also be refunded.

They will sometimes give you websites to check your speed right now but it is inaccurate … giving you fast speed but actually not.

Dont be fooled by this network.

I guess other networks are like this also?

Consumers have the right to have good service. All those poor service hours should be refunded.

They have a demo computer in their store which is acceptably fast in the area but when you test your own unit it has slow connection. Something is fishy. Could the account in the demo unit really much faster than what they sell?

Dont be fooled by this Sun Broadband Wireless Network!

I have been a subscriber of SBW for more than 10 months now. I had an acceptable speed connection with SBW during the first 6 months but experience slow connections during the last 4 months. I have been complaining about having slow connections at my area during peak hours. I have been trying to follow up with SBW customer service for the past 4 months now due to the slow connections. They agree that there is a problem with my area but they will never refund my payment since the reason that I have slow connections is due to congestion of users and not due to the system. This is because, if you would look at some of the literatures of SBW, there are small imprints that say that SBW could slow down during peak hours. For this reason, they are free from complaints and suit from DTI.

My subscription with SBW is not locked in for 2 years. I am decided to terminate my subscription from SBW even if I will waste my investment on their modem and router but you have to apply in their main office for termination which will really be a hassle. You can only also refund the 1000 pesos deposit after 6 months from service termination.

They said that SBW is continually improving their service in my area but doesn’t know when. So I asked if I could just hold my subscription with SBW while their connection is slow and would just re-subscribe when they already improved the system. They said that it could be possible but you have to pay 500 pesos for the reconnection fee.

Given the situation, I asked if I would just not pay the following months until my service is terminated. They said that after 2 months of non-payment, the SBW subscription would be disconnected but I would continually be charged every month even if the subscription is not being used until I pay and could receive a demand letter from their lawyers.

I asked where I could complain in writing and who to write to but they would never give a supervisor name. They just told me to email my complaint directed to a “To whom it may concern” to suncellular@digitel.com.ph

THIS IS A SUPER WARNING!

Think very well before subscribing to SBW.

TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE SUBSCRIBED TO SBW AND IS NOT SATISFIED AND DOESNT HAVE THE TIME YET TO GO THROUGH THE HASSLES OF TERMINATING FROM THEIR SERVICE OR TO THOSE WHO HAVE A LOCK IN PERIOD OF 2 YEARS …

DONT PAY FOR THE NEXT 2 MONTHS JUST BEFORE DISCONNECTION!!!

LET THEM FEEL THAT THEY HAVE TO IMPROVE THEIR SYSTEM.

HOPEFULLY I WILL HAVE TIME TO REALLY GO TO THEIR MAIN OFFICE TO TERMINATE MY SUBSCRIPTION. HOPEFULLY I WILL NOT HAVE MORE HASSLES WHILE DOING THIS!

sun needs to improve their signal strenght wag nilang hayaan na magay sila sa smart bro na super daming complint before nag improve ung signal nila at bumilis yung speed ngayun maganda yung connection ng smart bro kaso ang problem yung charge nila but what i know they have allreay unlimited plan 999 if thats the case sun needs to improve the connection baka maglipatan mga subscribers nila tsk tsk kailangan me mag paabot nito sa media

if you really want to know your speed try nyo yung interent download manager wag na kau mag sppedtest.net kasi me kanikaniyalang servers yun
sa idm malalaman yung speed nyo me bb ako na sun at smart bro yung nakuha ko yng sun ok sya nga mga 2 months i even reached 4000kps transfer rate or 4mbps
one time lang yun and it never happen again para ngang namimili ng oras yung sun unpredictable sila sa speed ok na san kung di ka bumaba ng 400kbps everyday kaso minsan 200 kbps tas madas me prompt na lumalabas na “detecting device” or devise is unavailable” which is nakak annoy pag pull up mo nung prompt wala ng signal panu yan kung nagdodownload ka ang your almost finish so anu? i uunplug mo modem/ tas ang bilis pa uminit..and napansin ko din yung modem nila me maliit na plug parang pang charger .i have research whta is that for para sa signal yun sa adapter whta they call rough claw para yun sa mga mahihinang signal nu yun? eh dapat me antena dapat di ba sbi nila sa sun di mo na kailangan signal eh kahit ful bar signal mo evry day speed namn ang usapan eh

bulok talaga ang sun. consistent 30kbps-40kbps ako for the last 6 or 7 months.. pag tumatawag ka sa hotline nila, laging ssbhin all csr daw unavailable. after few mins ng paghihintay ma cut ung tawag. kaya ayon mabagal n ung connection wala ka pang mahingan ng tulong! bwisit tlga. gnagamit ko sa work tong internet ko and its an inconvenience tlga pag slow ung connection. sana kung mababa tlga ung speed nila ilagay nila sa plan. nde ung ssbhin 2mbps tapos putsa never ko na experience n umabot ng 1mbps un connection ko. sobrang panloloko yan. di tama yan.. gawan nyo ng paraan yan. dahil mawawalan kayo ng customer pag patuloy kayo manloloko ng tao. and don’t tell us na ‘eh di pumunta kayo sa ibang network’ kc nde reason yon. you should improve your service. kung di nyo kaya panindigan yung ‘2mbps kuno’ nyo, magsara na kayo!! bwisit tlga! sirang sira araw ko ngayon.. sana nababasa ng management ng sun cel to. take this as a challenge. badtrip kayo!

SUN BROADBAND WIRELESS IS NOT WORTH A CENT! A blog post that would usually take a minute or two takes 1 hour for Sun. I am not exaggerating. I am only getting LESS THAN ZERO KBPS UPLOAD AND DOWNLOAD SPEED.

Aside from the speed, they also have issues with CUSTOMER SERVICE. The Supervisors are useless. They won’t listen to you. All they are programmed to say is “I apologize for the inconveniece..blah blah blah. They will create a report but that’s the end of it.

I’m only sticking with this modem because i’m an independent student and couldn’t afford to get another service.

But as soon as my budget permits, i will GET RID OF SUN BROADBAND WIRELESS!

This is why i googled complaints about the srvice. I wanted to join all the people complaining about the service. I wasn’t surprised to see so many threads and blogs about the bad experiences with Sun.

I bet my comment would take 10minutes to be posted.

Badtrip kanina malapit nah matapos ung Files koh. biglah nah disconnect ung internet.. almost 3hours koh un inintay… nakuh naman nag green lights ung modem koh nawala ung signal…. I waited 4hours bago bumalik ung connection.. ayun puyat akoh ngaun amf talagah!!!!!!

walang nakakatuwa….. @_@

super bagal mag download ng SWB 20 kbps lang daig pa ang dial up. tumawag ako sa tech support nila (knowing na Tech support din ako sa call center -international account)–nakakagalit super explain sila akala nila bobo ako nung malaman nilang supervisor din ako sa call center at inexplain ko sa kanila kung papanu gumagana ang broadband NOSE BLEED sila saken. Guys its to impossible na 10 kbps lng ang transfer rate nila dito sa Mandaluyong, meaning to say may problema ang server nila/ mobile tower tlga. Ang explanation nila is that my peak hours daw from 8am-1am..Anu yun? kapag maraming gumagamit mas bumabagal daw. HELLO kaya nga broadband eh!!!!!!! edi sna tatlong tao nlang ang binentahan nila ng wireless broadband para wla ng gumamit at magkaroon ng non-peak hours. Even their SUPERVISOR’s are idiot…at inexplain ko sa kanila ng Bongang bonga how it works!!! KUNG marami ang nagrereklamo ibig sabihin my problema tlga!!! Bukas ipapa-CLOSE ko na yung account ko!!!! MGA BOBO silang lahat lalo n ang management nila… Nakakagalit lng!!

badtrip talaga yang SUN na yan! Pls, dont get one. I’m a victim. My first 4 months ok ung speed. Then suddenly it drop into 4 kpbs mga 30 mins bago ka makakabukas in isang webpage. Sobra grabe, panung napagpapatuloy ang ganitong serbisyo, panlilinlang. Kahit sana 200 kpbs ok na sakin kahit claim nila 2 mbps. E 5 kpbs nga wala pa. Madalas pa 0 kpbs. Wag na kayo bumili ng SUN . Super bad customer service nila, kung pwede lang suntukin ung may ari ng sun ginawa ko na. sarap pagmumurahin ung SUN na yan. Please kung may awa pa kayo sa sarili nyo wag na wag na kau avail nito. Hirap lang dito sa pinas dahil wala ka pwedeng mapag reklamuhan, mabagay din goberno at parang wlang pake bout sa ganitong issue. Cguro bayad cla ng SUN.

may i know which area is sun broadband is strong, im planning to avail one but because of these feedbacks im hesitate and still try to know if its works in my area i live in surbaran fugoso st . near central market sta. cruz manila. want to know which would be better sun or smart, because i already use globe and it only work during weekends. its poor during weekdays. if some of you know how to unlock i would glad if you can give your contact or mail me how much so i can unlock it and wont buy another sun or smart unit thanks

The best word to describe SBW is “manloloko”, same experience with you guys, nung first month ko acceptable naman yung speed, i play a lot of online games at ok naman performance kahit may konting LAG ok lang. Pero after that month naku nagsimula na ang bangungot. Sobrang bagal na ng speed ko, browsing, downloads, uploads, at gaming. Halos di na gumagalaw pag naglalaro ako. Napapamura nalang ako sa galit, i tried calling the SBW hotline at kung anu ano lang pinagawa sakin, inareinstall yung software, pinalinis registry ko, delete cookies, I even formatted my computer lang baka sakali bumilis, i borrowed a friend’s GLOBE tattoo and another friend’s Smart Bro, ok naman ang speed nila bakit sa SUN ganito??? to anyone who wants to apply for a good broadband my advice is choose GLOBE o Smart basta wag lang SUN BROADBAND. Dibale na magdagdag kayo ng konti sa bayad niyo, smooth and fast naman connection niyo.
Papaterminate ko na nga yung SBW ko next week. Hope this serves as a warning, kung di niyo talaga kailangan ng broadband may PLDT DSL nalang kayo o Sky broadband. I hope SBW get a taste of there own medicine someday. Mga MANLOLOKO!!!!!

I could’nt say more about SBW. You guys had said it all. I guess I’ll just wait and see untill locked-in period we have with SBW expires. I just hope that people in there could do their acts together and make the system really work as expected. Less, it would not gonna be good for their business.
